Prime accused in Chhattisgarh police team attack arrested
Prayagraj: Kaushambi police on Tuesday arrested the prime accused in the Chhattisgarh police team attack case. The accused, identified as Shivam Kesarwani, is a resident of Iachauli village. He was carrying a bounty of Rs 15,000 on his head.Police said the accused, along with his family members and 50 others, had allegedly assaulted a five-member Chhattisgarh police team on the night of June 6, when they had arrived to arrest the main accused and two others wanted by Chhattisgarh police in connection with the NDPS Act.The injured police constable, Jagdev Prasad Verma, posted at Ganj police station in Raipur district, had lodged an FIR under appropriate sections of the BNS regarding the incident. Police had earlier arrested five accused involved in attacking the police personnel.
