ALLAHABAD: Burglars made away with cash and jewellery worth Rs 21 lakh from the house of an advocate, Vivekanand Tiwari, in Sohbatiabagh under Georgetown police station on early Wednesday.
The victim told TOI that he along with his wife was sleeping in the bedroom and found the door of the room locked from outside. He said the burglars had locked room while executing the crime.

After finding the door locked, the couple called up their relative. They, however, managed to open the door later.
Victim said the burglars took away Rs 14 lakh cash and jewellery worth Rs 7 lakh from the house. A police team along with sniffer dog and finger print experts rushed to the spot and carried investigations. Police said the house of the lawyer was being renovated and there was frequent movement of labourers.
