Mayor post should not go to those who renamed Aurangabad: Akbaruddin Owaisi
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: AIMIM politician Akbaruddin Owaisi said on Sunday that those who renamed Aurangabad should not become the mayor of the city after the upcoming civic body polls."We lost the Lok Sabha poll and later the assembly poll from Aurangabad. Realise the power of every vote. The mayor post of the city should not go to those who renamed Aurangabad," he said while addressing an election rally at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Sunday.Referring to alleged incidents of injustice and atrocities towards Muslims in the country, he said it was time for the community members to unite instead of distancing themselves from each other."Just like we condemn incidents of mob lynching of Muslims, we also condemn the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh and the killing of the Palestinian people," he said.Stating that every govt caused injustice towards Muslims in the country, Akbaruddin Owaisi said: "Muslims are backward in every sphere of life. They hope they will get their rights and that their issues will be resolved. However, every govt has meted out injustice to them. Muslims hope that AIMIM will do something for them."Listing the work his party has done in Telangana, he also said that such public works have become the identity of his party.
Younger brother of AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, Akbaruddin Owaisi also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "He neither loves this country nor has any concerns for it. He is the most inefficient Prime Minister. He is least bothered even if the rupee is falling against the dollar, inflation is rising, and unemployment is increasing," he said.
