RPF constable saves passenger’s life at Parbhani railway station
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A head constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Nanded division, saved a passenger's life at Parbhani railway station on Sunday.According to Rajesh Shinde, chief publicity inspector of the Nanded division (SCR), head constable Padmakar Mogare was on crime-prevention duty on platform no. 1 when the Nagersol–Narsapur Express arrived."As passengers were boarding the general coach, one passenger slipped and was trapped in the dangerous gap between the platform and the moving train," Shinde said. "Displaying promptness and courage, Mogare rushed to the spot and pulled the passenger to safety, averting a tragedy."The passenger, identified as Sheikh Mohammed, was traveling from Parbhani to Nanded.In a separate incident on Sunday, RPF and railway authorities at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar station recovered and returned a purse belonging to a female passenger from Pune. The passenger had inadvertently left the bag behind; it contained cash, debit cards, and credit cards.While the RPF celebrated a life saved, they are also hunting for a suspect involved in vandalism and assault at Parbhani Railway Station.An unidentified individual was caught breaking a lift door lock and smashing a CCTV camera inside the lift.
Electrical maintenance (AMC) staff on duty intervened to stop the destruction."The person became aggressive, verbally abusing and physically assaulting the staff member," Shinde said. "Despite the assault, the staff member managed to photograph the individual before he fled. The RPF is currently using the evidence to track down the suspect."
