12-yr-old maid killed in Goa

MADIKERI: In a bone-chilling crime, a householder has admitted to killing a 12-year-old maid by cutting her body into pieces and burying the remains just outside his flat in Madgaon, Goa. C K Hamza, the accused, had employed young Shafia in Kasargod two years ago through Aiyobi, a friend of the girl's parents ��� B A Moideen and Aiysha from Aiyangeri village near Madikeri ��� saying he wanted her to tend to his children.For two months since, Shafia would call her parents once a week.
On December 16, 2006, they were shocked to hear that she was missing. A complaint was lodged with the Adur (Kasaragod) police but Hamza is said to have got the complaint reversed telling them that the girl's parents had taken her home. Residents smelt a rat and demanded a proper investigation.
A special team then questioned Maimuna, Hamza's wife, and his relatives and got to know that he had taken the girl to a flat he owned in Goa. They arrested Hamza and he spilled the beans. Hamza said he had taken Shafia there to cook for him. One day she spilled a pan of hot water over herself and suffered severe burns. When the wounds wouldn't heal he decided to kill her, he said.
