Budding actor held for robbing tourists

BANGALORE: Bangalore rural district police have nabbed a budding cinema actor who had been robbing tourists around Nandi Hills.
Kiran, who had acted in Kannada movies like `Malleswaram 18th Cross', `Moorane Class Manja B.Com Bhagya' and `Life Style', was also into drag racing.
Recently, police started keeping a watch around Nandi Hills after they received several theft complaints from tourists visiting the area.
Initially, the cops nabbed one Viru of Yeshwanthpur. During interrogation, Viru revealed the name of Kiran, Manjunath and other gang members.
While Kiran was arrested, the other members of the gang are absconding. The two have been remanded to judicial custody.
Carpenter drowns in sump
A carpenter, in an inebriated state, drowned in the water sump of a building under construction at Tilaknagar on Monday evening. Police said that Sohan (45) from Uttar Pradesh was working as carpenter in the same building. On Monday, he returned to the building in a drunken state and slipped into the sump. It was only afer a while that the other workers in the building realized Sohan had drowned.
