Bureaucrat's girlfriend found hanging in PG room

Bengaluru: A 21-year-old woman, said to be the girlfriend of a bureaucrat, was found hanging inside her paying guest accommodation in Sanjaynagar, north Bengaluru, late on Wednesday.Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer Niranjan Babu is on the run and has been booked for abetting the suicide and domestic violence. Chaitra J was working as a stenographer with the state's warehousing corporation. The PG owner found her hanging from the ceiling fan when he broke open the door, which was locked since Wednesday. A complaint by Chaitra's father said Nirjanjan Babu and his daughter fell in love at the warehousing corporation."Chaitra left home last year, saying she wanted to marry him. She later called us to say Nirjanjan was torturing her," her father Jayakumar, who is a government warehouse employee, said.According to Jayakumar, Chaitra posted on Facebook in September 2015 that she had married Niranjan. "The officer is working with BDA now and we have booked a case against him under section 306 of IPC ," police said.Police are investigating why Chaitra was staying in a PG after the said marriage.
