Karnataka has sought a sum of Rs 1,167.15 crore for rain-battered districts, including Bangalore city.

The study team deputed by the Centre to assess damage caused by rains in north and south Karnataka, will hold a wrap-up meeting in Bangalore on Friday with officials.
The meeting is to get official inputs as the report will be submitted to the Centre, which has to release funds. On Thursday, the team visited Kolar, Mandya, Mysore and Hassan.
Ten districts were covered by them during the past two days.

In Kolar, the team led by R Bhattacharya, joint secretary, Union ministry of home, reviewed the work taken up to restore the breached tank bund of Kodikannur near Kolar.
Later, the officials visited some areas in Bangarpet and Keelukoppa village where a bridge was breached. In Mandya, another team led by Anupam Barik, visited Nagamangala, Pandavapura and K R Pet taluks.
According to team members, the losses are more in K R Pet taluk. In Mysore, the team of Barik, V Venkatesh and R K Pandey viewed a graphic presentation on rain damage in Mysore and Chamarajanagar districts given by DCs KR Shashidhar and S Selvakumar.

Venkatesh said they will submit a factfinding report to the committee headed by the Union home secretary on or after Monday.
"It will then be placed before the cabinet sub-committee which will decide the extent of the relief package," Venkatesh said.
"We have only two days to review, it is insufficient," he added. The team, however, made time to visit the world-famous Krishnarajasagar Dam.
