BANGALORE: He conspired to loot his former employer, but landed behind bars. The Peenya police have solved the Rs 7-lakh robbery in two days by arresting four persons, including the mastermind, Shivakumar.
The incident took place on Thursday near Peenya II Stage. The Cosmopolitan security and detective agency of Ashwin Kumar has services in Hassan.
On 10th of every month, an employee, Somashekar Naik, used to take money from Basaweshvaranagar to distribute salaries to employees in Hassan.

As Naik reached Peenya II Stage, riding pillion with his brother Nagaraj, three men, who came in a car, waylaid him and snatched the bag containing the cash. During investigation, Peenya police found that Ashwin Kumar had dismissed an employee recently, who knew when cash is taken to Hassan.
The sleuths zeroed in on the dismissed employee, Shivakumar, at his house in Rajarajeshwarinagar.
"Shivakumar was working as a field officer in the agency and hatched a plot to rob Naik. Shivakumar briefed his associates about the plan and also showed the house of Ashwin Kumar. After directing them, he went back home to create an alibi," the police said.
The Peenya police arrested Shivakumar's accomplices Renukaprasad, Satish and Lokesh. The looted cash, Rs 7 lakh, and the car used for the crime have been seized by the police.
