A classroom episode at Sri Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre triggered outrage after a professor’s alleged proposal led to confrontation and unrest on campus.

The incident occurred on 25th March at the institute in T. Begur and surfaced after videos recorded by students went viral on social media.

A professor, identified as Mohammed, allegedly proposed to a student during class, claiming she had earlier expressed love for him, which shocked students present in the classroom.

Two videos circulating online show the professor addressing students, claiming mutual love with the student and distributing chocolates, bringing widespread attention to the unusual classroom incident.

The student immediately denied the professor’s claims, challenged him to take the matter to the principal, and demanded proof after he alleged CCTV footage supported his statement.

The professor reportedly brought a carton of chocolates and arranged for distribution in class, presenting it as a celebratory gesture linked to the alleged proposal incident.

After leaving the classroom, tensions escalated rapidly as the disagreement turned into a heated confrontation, drawing more students into the situation and intensifying the campus disturbance.

The situation reportedly turned violent, with the student allegedly hitting the professor with her slipper while other students joined in, verbally abusing and physically assaulting him.

The incident falls under Nelamangala Rural Police Station, with police acknowledging the episode but confirming no formal complaint has been filed so far.
