BENGALURU: BBMP chief commissioner Tushar Giri Nath on Monday directed officials to mandatorily hold ward committee meetings on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
After the council’s tenure ended, BBMP appointed nodal officers for 198 ward committees. Giri Nath said: “To strengthen ward committees, nodal officers have to convene meetings starting next Saturday, and this has to continue every month.”
Officials were instructed to put up notice three days before the meeting and upload minutes of the discussions on BBMP website.
He said stern action will be taken against those who fail to adhere.
