On Monday, Parikrma-- an NGO providing quality education to underprivileged children-- launched its "Change the World" series with top level management from various corporates in Bangalore and Australian Test skipper Steve Waugh.

The series is the first towards sharing wealth with the have-nots. "Steve is a captain of one of the World''s best cricket teams and we are calling captains of the corporate industry. The event is all about sharing leadership qualities and acknowledging that it is time to give a little of what we have to others who are not as fortunate, Parikrma, founder, Shukla Bose said.
Steve Waugh, 38, and known to be actively involved in social work in Kolkata was interviewed by Ashwini on leadership experience in his field. "Cricket has given me the opportunity to see so much of the world. I once took classes at a teacher''s college, dabbled in music and drama and a part time job, but at the end of it, I was full time into professional cricket," said Waugh.
"You''ve crossed the 10,000 runs mark. Now what do you want to achieve?" asked Ashwini. And Steve answered, "Tendulkar will break all records. But I love competition and I always think my next innings might be the best one."
According to Steve, pride in performance is what defines a leader. "I love being around inspirational people. Challenge stimulates me", Waugh commented. Fielding a question by Ashwini on rumours of Steve acting in an English film shot in India, the Australian cricketer evoked giggles from the audience even as he said, My manager has been talking. Waugh has not said yes to any movie but he added "never say never".
