Used-car dealers’ forum to open on Saturday

MANGALORE: The newly formed Dakshina Kannada District Used Vehicle Dealers and Agents Association, will be inaugurated here on Saturday.
While B.M. Sanjeeva Rao of Standard Hyundai, inaugurates the association, Seemanth Kumar Singh, SP and Giridhar Rao, RTO, will jointly preside over the function.
The association has been formed with a view to curb the sale of stolen cars.
Vasanth Salian, honorary president of the association, said they would co-ordinate with the police to refrain their members from dealing with vehicles with dubious records.
He also said the association, which had 82 members, would direct its members to not pass any previous financial burden onto the new owners and provide hassle free service.
Regarding sale of outside vehicles here, members said they had methods to check whether the vehicle was genuine or stolen like to check the genuineness of the RC book, the condition of the vehicles among other things.
