5 killed in two separate accidents
Bhopal/Jabalpur: Five persons were killed in two separate road accidents reported from Chhindwara and Umaria districts of Madhya Pradesh over the past two days. While three youths died after two motorcycles collided head-on in Chhindwara district, two others lost their lives in Umaria after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding car.
In Chhindwara district, the accident took place on Sunday evening near village Hanotia under Junnardeo police station limits. According to police, two motorcycles carrying two persons each collided head-on near the Hanotia Community Health Centre. The impact of the collision was so severe that two youths died on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries.
Local residents informed police and emergency services following the accident. The injured were rushed to Junnardeo hospital by 108 ambulance and Dial 112 teams, where one more youth died during treatment.
Police identified the deceased as 20-year-old Chandrabhan Yadav, 15-year-old Chaman Yadav and 20-year-old Sonu Uikey. Preliminary investigation suggests overspeeding was the main reason behind the collision. Police have registered a case and started further investigation.
In another accident reported from Umaria district on Monday morning, two motorcycle-borne youths died after their bike was hit by a speeding car near Sarmania turn on the Manpur road.
Police said Haider Khan and Anil Rajak were travelling towards Manpur when the car allegedly rammed into their motorcycle. Haider Khan died on the spot, while Anil Rajak was taken to the community health centre in critical condition, where he later died during treatment.
Following the incident, family members alleged delay in arranging an ambulance and referral for better treatment at the hospital. Police are investigating the matter.
