BHOPAL: Wednesday was a special day for the students of Model School in Bhopal. Instead of their regular teachers, it was Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh who gave them a lecture on the importance of Tiranga and its history in ‘CM Ki Paatshaala’.
Chouhan told students about the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, freedom struggle, the story of the national flag Tiranga and rules for hoisting the tricolor.
The CM inspired children to join environment-protection and social welfare activities and work with dedication for the country’s development. He said that the state government is making every effort to promote sports.
Chouhan told children about the Civil Disobedience Movement and the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the Chapekar brothers, Chandrashekhar Azad, Pandit Ramprasad Bismil, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Veer Savarkar, and about the Jallianwala Bagh incident.

Modi has launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to encourage people to bring the Tricolor home and hoist it to celebrate the 75th year of India’s Independence. Its purpose is to inculcate the spirit of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to celebrate Amrit Mahotsav of freedom with the spirit of public participation. He encouraged everyone to buy and hoist the national flag.
Chouhan advised students to adhere to the Flag Code of India and said that the flag should be given the place of highest respect and placed in such a place where it is clearly visible. The flag should always be flown with enthusiasm and lowered slowly with respect, he said.
