Take action against Scindia for grabbing government land, BJP MP urges Madhya Pradesh CM
BJP Rajya Sabha member Prabhat Jha
BHOPAL: BJP Rajya Sabha member Prabhat Jha on Wednesday held Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia responsible for dispossessing poor families of their lands and shelters in the name of anti-encroachment drive. Jha urged chief minister Kamal Nath to look into the matter and take action against Scindia for allegedly encroaching upon government land.
Alleging that Scindia selectively targeted areas and families, apart from BJP workers, who did not support him during previous Lok Sabha election which he had lost by a margin of more than 1.2 lakh votes, Jha said, Scindia is taking political revenge.
1x1 polls

"After his (Scindia's) humiliating defeat in Lok Sabha elections, he (Scindia) deliberately misused power and government machinery to target BJP leaders and those who did not support him during the polls. He also played crucial role in filing fake cases against BJP leaders in Gwalior-Chambal region to take political revenge," Jha told TOI on Wednesday.
Making a scathing attack on Scindia for allegedly encroaching government land in Shivpuri, Jha urged chief minister Kamal Nath to act against Scindia. "He has grabbed government land in the name of trusts. During the ongoing action against mafia, I request chief Kamal Nath to act against him (Scindia) for encroaching government land," alleged Jha.
The BJP national vice-president claimed that his prediction about Scindia losing Lok Sabha seat in 2019 polls came out to be true and he would again claim that Scindia would not get Rajya Sabha ticket in the Congress. "The Congress Maharaja has lost public connect. He is behaving more like a ruler than a public servant. Congress has realised the truth," said Jha.
Even though, Scindia is not responding to Jha's allegations, the Congress has slammed Jha for attacking Scindia. Congress state general secretary and Scindia's close confident, Yogendra Lumba said that allegations by BJP leader
Prabhat Jha were irrelevant and baseless.
"Jha is completing his Rajya Sabha term in April hence, trying to search his political base and status in the BJP. His allegations are baseless and proven fake. Action against BJP workers is as per the law and they should approach court to get justice instead of blaming the Congress party," Lumba told TOI.
On Wednesday, Scindia's close confident and state food and civil supplies minister, Pradyumn Singh Tomar said, "Scindia is arriving here at Bhopal for a special meeting and lunch at transport minister Govind Singh Rajput's house. Maharaja will give `dose' during his short visit."
The minister however, did not explain what kind of 'dose' he was talking about. Sources said Scindia was upset over some issues related to the party and ministers. He had been eyeing for the post of Congress state president or ticket for Rajya Sabha from MP. Hence, his visit holds significance for his supporters in the party, said sources.
