Rural cancer support network plan in every Odisha panchayat
Bhubaneswar: A strong rural support network for cancer patients will soon be developed across Odisha, with cancer care partners planned in every panchayat, announced members of Fighters Group, a network of cancer survivors during the National Cancer Survivors Day celebrations in Bargarh on Sunday.
The programme aimed to remove fear, myths and hopelessness surrounding cancer while promoting awareness, timely treatment and community support for patients and survivors.
Addressing the gathering, Bargarh MP Pradip Purohit said the battle against cancer cannot be fought by doctors and hospitals alone and requires collective support from society, voluntary organisations and common people.
“Cancer does not discriminate between ordinary citizens and public representatives. Building a strong healthcare support system is essential for every community,” Purohit said. TNN
