Abduction case takes a turn

bathinda: what do parents, whose child goes missing do? they ask the police to arrest the person responsible and seek their child out. what happens when the police reportedly say that the parents do not want action taken in the case! hari nath and his wife prem bai, both daily wagers, reported the alleged abduction of their four-year-old daughter rajni on november 24.curiously, the complaint was lodged by the police allegedly after a fortnight, on december 10.the said report also has certain "lacunae", saying that the case registered had been that of a missing child. according to rajni''s parents, their child was abducted by one bhaia lal of chhatisgarh from indira niwas basti, here. the involved reportedly has links with the flesh trade industry. hurriedly, the parents had reported the matter to the civil lines police station here. they had reportedly said in the complaint that bhaia lal had lured their child, while she was playing with the neighbourhood children. the police had allegedly told the parents that a report had been lodged and the girl would soon be traced. the parents were then forced to approach insaaf international, a voluntary organisation, here. on february 17, general secretary of insaaf international vineeta gupta went to the police and inquired about the progress made in the case.that is when it came to light that the case had not been filed on november 24, but on december 10. the parents maintain that the girl was kidnapped. the police report allegedly reads: "the girl went missing while playing and the parents do not wish to take any action regarding her recovery." a press conference was also called, on monday, where the parents of the child were also present.vineeta gupta said, "the delay was deliberate. and they have filed wrong facts on purpose. maybe they are involved with the man who abducted the child." station house officer rajinder kumar who had lodged the report, said, "the girl''s father had approached us after 15 days of the incident and had made no allegation against anyone. he changed his statement later and started accusing bhaia lal." the girl''s parents are doing all they can to get their child back.they say they have given the girl''s photograph''s and the address of the "accused" to the police, after acquiring it from raigarh district of chhatisgarh.
