Chandigarh Literary Society organises prize distribution ceremony for poetry competition winners

The Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS) held the annual prize distribution ceremony for its annual poetry competition and annual short story writing competition. The competition was organized earlier this year inviting online entries and after being judged by a panel of judges, the winners were selected. People across India participated in the much-awaited competition.

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS) held the annual prize distribution ceremony for its annual poetry competition and annual short story writing competition. The competition was organized earlier this year inviting online entries and after being judged by a panel of judges, the winners were selected. People across the country participated in the much-awaited competition. Sumita Misra IAS Chairperson, Chandighar Literary Society congratulated the award winners and gave away the prizes. She said that CLS's endeavors to promote literary activities are not only limited in the Tricity but through these competitions is Pan-India. "The poetry and short story writing competitions are much-awaited events and this year there was a highly enthusiastic response. We are happy to share that people across India participated in the competition", she said. She also emphasized on harnessing the skills of creative writing through these competitions and informed that over the years many previous winners have become successful published authors as they gained confidence in these competitions.The theme for the poetry competition was change and entries were invited in Hindi, English, and Punjabi.
Ravindra Tandon secured the first position, PrishaSharma stood second and Sunaina Jain got third position. In Hindi, Akshay Sharma claimed the first spot, Shally Vij second and AbhaMukesh Sahni stood third. The first position in Punjabi poetry was secured by NavpreetKaur followed by Harpreet Baweja. In the short story writing competition, Jasmeet Dosanjh secured the first position followed by Deviyani Singh, and Suneet Madan got third position.The winning entries were read out and were highly appreciated by the audience. Later cash prizes along with gift hampers and certificates were presented to the winners. The judges for the competition - Neelkamal Puri, Subhash Bhasker, Vijay Kapoor also graced the occasion and shared their thoughts.
