Haryana women’s commission directs police to arrest rapper Badshah, ban his shows
Chandigarh: Haryana State Commission for Women (HSCW) on Saturday asked police to arrest rapper Badshah aka Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia in the cases registered against him at three places over his controversial song ‘Tateeree'.One of the three is a criminal case. HSCW chairperson Renu Bhatia issued the directions to Panchkula DC{ and Panipat SP, where the cases are registered, for "execution of orders as soon as possible". She also directed police and authorities to seize Badshah's passport and ban his programmes across the state."Despite our reminder, he did not turn up for the hearing and instead released another video message. We gave him an opportunity till 3pm, as his lawyers pleaded that he could not come for the hearing in the morning due to professional commitments. This was not acceptable, hence, we issued the directions," said Bhatia, adding that they are writing to National Commission for Women to ban his shows across the country. On March 1, Badshah released ‘Tateeree' on social media, sparking controversy over alleged inappropriate lyrics and picturisation of the song. Women's commission and the chief minister's office (CMO) took cognisance of the outrage and ordered the registration of a case.
