CHANDIGARH: Name claims of the two groups of Himachal Pradesh Students Union (HPSU) has kicked up yet another row as after the group led by Kuldeep Rawat announced its panel on Wednesday, the Nishant Kaushal group filed a complaint against them. Kaushal has alleged that the Rawat group was going against party norms by forming a sub-party of his own in the name of HPSU.
Kushal has also alleged that a member from the Rawat group had manhandled one of their members on Wednesday.
“The group led by Kuldeep Rawat is going against the party breaking rules and norms. On Wednesday we made an official announcement of party panel, which was announced by founder chairman Dr Subash Manglate and founder president Dr Deepak Rawat. He did not hand over the official account, cheque book to the HPSU present president Raman Deep Bholta, who is running the party and also misused the HPSU social media page for personal benefits as he was the administrator of the same,” said Kaushal.
Rawat said, “How someone from PUSU (Kaushal) suddenly appear and take control of the student party that other members have been working for since its inception?” On the other hand, Kaushal said absence of the founder members and sitting/current official from HPSU from the panel announcement of the Rawat group had made party high command’s position clear.
The Kaushal-lead group had announced its panel in the presence of its senior leaders on Tuesday. Ramandeep Bhotta, a student from the department of
human rights, was appointed the president of Kaushal-led HPSU, Aishwarya Negi ias vice-president, Mohit Sagar as general secretary and
Rohit Sharma as joint secretary.
Meanwhile, the Rawat group has made Dhananjay Thakur as its chairman, Abhishek Sharma as president and Nameesha as vice-president.
