‘In Punjab, AAP is small goon; BJP is big goon’: Pargat on CBI raid
Jalandhar: Congress MLA Pargat Singh on Tuesday termed the CBI raid at the Punjab Vigilance Bureau office an "election stunt" and alleged that both the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP were misusing investigative agencies for political purposes.Speaking to reporters in Jalandhar, Pargat said the BJP was now using central agencies to tighten its grip on the AAP ahead of elections, just as the Bhagwant Mann govt had allegedly misused the vigilance bureau in Punjab."The BJP is also not innocent. In Punjab, AAP is a ‘small goon', while at the Centre BJP is a ‘big goon'. In Punjab, AAP indulged in hooliganism, and now BJP, acting like a ‘big goon', has started suppressing them. Both parties are promoting corruption," he said.Pargat alleged the incident had dented the credibility of the AAP govt and opened the door for increased intervention by central agencies in Punjab.Claiming that the BJP followed a similar pattern across the country, he said opposition leaders were first branded corrupt and later accommodated in the BJP. "There are many such leaders whom the BJP first called corrupt and later gave a clean chit," he added.
