Man convicted of kidnapping

CHANDIGARH: The court of additional district and session judge SK Aggarwal convicted Raju Tiwari for kidnapping and raping a minor. The court will now pronounce the quantum of sentence on December 18. The allegations levelled against Tiwari were that he abducted a minor girl, who was below 16 years of age, from Sector 40 on April 4, 2007.
He, allegedly, took her to various places and finally the girl got a chance to phone her father from Panipat.It was after receiving her call minor's father accompanied by cops went to Panipat and recovered her from there. An FIR was lodged in the year 2007 under Sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping or inducing a woman to compel her marriage) and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
