Chandigarh: Police have arrested a resident of Nayagaon, Inder Kumar, after 224 gram of charas was allegedly recovered from him at the parking area of Timber Market in Sector 26. A court remanded him to police custody.

Drug seizure: One remanded in police custody
A man accused in a drug peddling case has been sent to two-day police remand by a sessions court in Ahmedabad. The accused, Mahendra Taili, was traced and brought back from a Rajasthan prison after being missing for two years. The arrest comes after 154kg of ganja was seized in Sanand and five persons were previously arrested in connection with the case. The prosecutor has requested a week's custodial interrogation.
Drug racket busted in Bhopal, woman among 3 held with Rs 1 crore charas
The crime branch in Bhopal has arrested three individuals, including a woman from Bihar, for their involvement in a drugs smuggling racket. Police seized 9kg of charas worth around Rs 1.8 crore from them. The accused had been operating in the illegal trade for over six months, with the kingpin of the racket operating from Nepal and Bihar. The police have registered a case and are searching for other members of the racket. The accused used women as couriers to smuggle drugs, taking advantage of lax security checks on trains.
