Panchkula: A delegation of the Haryana State Transport Employees' Union has demanded that government employees posted in Pinjore and Kalka be given the same house rent allowance (HRA) as those at the Panchkula district headquarters. Employees in Panchkula receive 16% HRA, while those in Pinjore and Kalka get 8%. tnn
The delegation, led by Surender Singh, met Shivalik Vikas Manch state president Advocate Vijay Bansal, who later submitted a memorandum to the chief minister seeking parity. Bansal said Panchkula gets 16% HRA due to special status despite having a population below 5 lakh, whereas Pinjore and Kalka employees continue at 8%, calling it discriminatory.
