CHANDIGARH: Barun Chandra Thakur, father of Pradhyumn who was murdered at Ryan International School in Gurugram, has approached the Punjab and Haryana high court seeking directions to pre-pone hearing of bail petitions filed by the Pinto family, owners of Ryan group of institutions.
Thakur, who is also a complainant in the case, has filed a plea in view of the
Supreme Court orders that on November 6 had directed the Punjab and Haryana high court to decide on the bail applications of the Pinto family within 10 days.
The SC had issued the directions after hearing a petition filed by Thakur seeking cancellation of interim bail given to the school owners by the high court on October 7.
“The complainant craves kind indulgence of the high court for permission to place on record the copy of SC order, which is very much necessary for the adjudication of the matter,” Thakur’s counsel stated in the application. The plea is expected to come up for hearing on November 17.
On October 7, the HC had stayed the arrest of the founders of the Ryan group of Institutions till December 5 in the murder case. While granting relief to the school owners Augustine Pinto, his wife Grace Pinto and their son Ryan Pinto, the HC had asked them to join the investigations and not leave the country.
“The petitioners are directed to join the CBI investigation on receipt of notice. In the event of their arrest being required, they will be allowed interim bail till next date on their furnishing bonds to the satisfaction of investigating agency. However, they shall abide by the terms and conditions as envisaged under Section 438(2)(i) to (iv) CrPC failing which they shall loose the benefit of interim bail allowed to them,” the high court had ordered.
The family of the boy wants action against Pinto family alleging that they were part of the conspiracy in the death of their son.
On September 8, body of 7-year-old Pradhyumn was found inside a toilet of the school with throat slit. Initially the matter was investigated by the Haryana police, which had booked a school bus conductor for killing the Class II student but later the case was taken up by the CBI. The premier agency has recently arrested a Class XI student of the same school for killing Pradhyumn.
