In their complaint, they had alleged that their fathers did not approve of the marriage and were blaming each other for it. One of them, in fact, had even lodged a false complaint on the charge of abduction. The commission had registered a case and had asked the SSP, Hoshiarpur, to look into the matter at the same time directing the IGP litigation to ensure that an officer, not below the rank of a DSP, look into the matter and submit the report expeditiously. Interestingly, the couple appeared before the commission last week seeking protection.

Both of them stated that they had been staying in Sector 15, Chandigarh when Pramod Chhabra, father of Kunal came along with Rohit Khurana and Tilak Raj and beat him up and even tried to abduct the couple.

Narrating the incident before the commission, the couple stated that following this incident they had lodged a complaint at the Sector 11 police station where Pramod, Khurana and Tilak struck a compromise that they would not interfere with the couple''s life.

Despite this, the couple, fearing danger to their lives and liberty appealed to the commission asking it to protect their lives as Pramod and others were still in the city.

<formid=526372></formid=526372>
