A local court on Tuesday convicted two persons for kidnapping and gruesome murder of city's five years old boy Khuspreet Singh.

CHANDIGARH: A local court on Tuesday convicted two persons for kidnapping and gruesome murder of city's five-year-old boy Khuspreet Singh.
Khushpreet was kidnapped from outside his residence in Burail on December 21, 2010.
Additional district and sessions judge, Atul Kasana of the district court Chandigarh has convicted the accused Sukhdev Singh alias Sukha and his brother Gurvinder Singh alias Binder under section 302 (murder), section 364A (kidnapping for ransom) section 201 (destruction of evidence) and section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC.

Both the accused brothers were neighbour of deceased boy and had planned his kidnapping to tide over their financial liabilities.

Court, however, held their servant Nand Kishore guilty under section 364A, 201 and 120B of the IPC.
The quantum of sentence to the accused would be pronounced on April 18. All the accused were present before the court on Tuesday when they were held guilty.
The main accused Sukhdev and Gurvinder are residents of Burail, while Nand Kishore is a resident of Launor village of Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh.
The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 4 lakh and fled with the money after a police trap failed.
He remained in the custody of his kidnappers for around 14 days and was killed when the child had identified one of them as his neighbor.
Khushpreet's body was recovered from a pit in Mohali's Phase-X on January 5, 2011.
