CHENNAI: In a fresh clash at Presidency College on Thursday, at least three students were injured and admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. Police have taken at least 25 students into their custody for questioning.

Police said the injured students were chatting in the canteen on the college campus when a gang wielding deadly weapons attacked them. Police recovered a sickle from the spot. On information, police teams waiting outside the college entered the premises and cornered more than 25 students. They are being grilled by the police.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the injured students belonged to the group that won the recent students union elections. Triplicane police have registered a case.
