Five women injured as bus topples near Chengalpet

Chennai: Five women employees of a private company were injured when a minibus toppled on the Madurandhakam Chengalpet road on Wednesday morning.
Police said the women were on their way to work at a garment factory that exports clothes when the driver, attempting to give way to a vehicle, lost control and the minibus hit the median and toppled over.
Police rushed to the spot and moved the injured to Chengelpet Government Hospital where doctors are treating the injured women.
Police said the minibus driver was speeding and lost control of the vehicle and jammed the brakes, resulting in the minibus hitting the median and turning turtle. Villagers rushed to the aid of the occupants till the police arrived.
