Tamil Nadu election 2026: Vijay terms DMK alliance 'kallapetti kootani,' says battle is between ‘Vijay and Stalin sir’
VELLORE: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder president and actor Vijay on Monday termed the alliance led by the DMK as 'kallapetti kootani' (petty cash box thief coalitions) and claimed that the DMK alliance cannot win the 2026 assembly polls with money and muscle power.
Addressing a public meeting in Vellore on Monday, he declared that the battle is between “Vijay and Stalin sir” in the ensuing polls. "I am Tamil Nadu's whistle-blower. We must put an end to the atrocious evil regime. The polls are the only way to do it...DMK cannot win polls with money and muscle power. It is a whistle revolution now. We'll visit every village directly to meet people if we form govt. TVK is a people's movement and the whistle (its poll symbol) is a revolution. Have faith; good will happen, victory is certain. People know the evil and corrupt forces opposing us. It's a straight fight between DMK and TVK,” said Vijay.
He challenged politicians to reveal their wealth sources openly. Mocking chief minister M K Stalin as his "new friend," Vijay asked why the chief minister had blamed him for the Karur stampede that claimed 41 lives. He came down heavily on the govt for failing to fulfil its promises, including reverting to monthly electricity meter bills, among others.
He promised that if TVK forms the govt, it will ensure the safety of women and children, maintain law and order, improve govt schools and colleges, ensure clean toilets and train the students to face competitive examinations successfully. He promised a drug-free Tamil Nadu. He said women would occupy half of the posts of district collectors and SPs in the state. He promised welfare boards for unorganised workers (auto/taxi/lorry drivers), industrial hubs and schemes for farmers/fishers/weavers.
