For his painting exhibition ‘Unpredictable Probabilities’, series of watercolour artworks, Sanjeeva Rao Guthi has drawn inspiration from political and social events that speak of power and the struggles of people.
“We come across so many things that we don’t agree with but often become a part of — from family to workplace politics and injustice that happens to all of us.
In the quest to making money and leading a comfortable life, we end up taking jobs that we don’t enjoy doing. In this race of building a false reputation in the society, people start undermining others around them who are not as powerful as they are in terms of wealth and position in their career. Some are supremely honest and hardworking in every job they take while some are smart enough to reach success without any effort and hardwork. The chaos and energy of my paintings weave a picture of today’s anarchic environment. At the same time, they refer to a sense of collective energy that is the redeeming power of man and hold out a glimmer of hope for the future,” says Sanjeeva.
