Dehradun: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 12 board examination results on Wednesday, recording an overall pass percentage of 85.2, a decline from last year’s 88.4%. Dehradun zone registered a pass rate of 81.4, ranking 17th among the 22 CBSE zones in the country, as per official results. Last year, the zone was placed 13th with a pass percentage of 83.5.Dehradun region, comprising 13 Uttarakhand districts and 8 Uttar Pradesh districts, saw a total of 97,623 students register from 1,285 schools. Of these, 97,012 appeared for the exams and 78,984 passed. Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 85.8 compared to 77.9 for boys, while about 12.6% of students were placed in compartment category.In Uttarakhand, 793 schools registered, achieving a pass rate of 85.5 (88.3% girls and 83.2% boys). Eklavya Model Residential Schools performed the best in the state with a 100% pass percentage, followed by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas at 99.1%.In Dehradun, Aditi from Him Jyoti School topped the school with 97.8%, followed by Aarushi Jaldiyal and Monika Chhetri with 94% marks each. All three are from the Humanities stream. From SGRR Public School, Talab branch, Divakshi Mehta secured 96% in Commerce stream, followed by Shrishti Chanchal with 92.2% marks.“The key is consistency. I never took any coaching or tuitions, listened to music to relax and studied without any fixed timetables. My parents were my biggest supporters,” said Divakshi, preparing to become a chartered accountant.Anika Verma from Indian Academy secured 98.4% in the Commerce stream followed by Vaishnavi Baurai with 93.2%. Ojasvi Painuly of Doon International School secured 98.8% in Humanities followed by Agastya Saini with 98.4% in Commerce. Aarav Mittal topped Selaqui International in Commerce with 97.2%, followed by Gul Choudhary at 95.8%.In Rudrapur, Delhi Public School and Jaycees Public School delivered outstanding performances, with students from both institutions emerging among the top achievers of Udham Singh Nagar district and recording a 100% pass percentage.Prachi Matela of Jaycees Public School and Sunanda Khandelwal of Delhi Public School jointly topped in Humanities stream in the district with 98.6% marks each. In Science stream, Ishita Saini of Jaycees Public School secured 97% marks to attain the second position, while in Commerce, Aastha Yadav of Jaycees Public School scored 96.8%. DPS students Lavanya Garg and Naman Dhoundiyal also excelled in Commerce with 97% each.Jaycees also reported that 34 students scored above 90%, while 28 students secured perfect scores in different subjects.In Mussoorie, Mahi Khurana from Oak Grove School secured first place with 98.4% in Humanities followed by Suhana Kaushik with 95.8%.In Nainital, Diksha Joshi and Rafia Rafat, students of Mohan Lal Sah Bal Vidya Mandir, achieved a remarkable feat by jointly topping the city merit list with an impressive score of 97.4%. Their outstanding academic performance brought immense pride to their school and the local community.More than 12 students of Doon Heritage School scored above 90 percent marks in the CBSE Class 12 examination.
