Four held for robbing and killing trader

New Delhi: Four people were arrested on Monday for allegedly robbing a man and murdering him in Nangloi recently. The man owned a sugar trading business in the area.The arrested accused were identified as Kuldeep (27), a resident of Aman Vihar; Aryan (23), a resident of Karan Vihar; Tirath Raj (21), a resident of Kirari Suleman Nagar; and Shivam Pandey (18), a resident of Kirari Suleman Nagar.Police said while the businessman was returning home on Sept 1, two of the accused tried to snatch his bag containing a laptop and Rs 10 lakh. Upon resisting, he was shot dead by one of them. The gang members then fled with his bag. The two other aides were waiting on motorbikes."The businessman was robbed and murdered near the petrol pump on Rohtak Road in Nangloi. He had sustained bullet injuries in the incident. He was rushed to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, Punjabi Bagh, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors," DCP (Outer) Jimmy Chiram said.While analysing the CCTV footage, the cops noticed the suspects going towards Peeragarhi. "Based on local intelligence, Kuldeep and Aryan were nabbed from Aman Vihar. They stated that Pandey had conveyed information about the businessman. Kuldeep had fired at the businessman and Aryan had snatched the bag from him. Further raids were conducted at Kirari Suleman Nagar and the other accused were also nabbed," another officer stated. The accused claimed that they were debt-ridden. However, after the robbery, they went to Manikaran and Kasol in Himachal Pradesh and stayed at a hotel there. During their visit, they spent a huge amount of money.
