Prasad told the police that he and his son had reached Delhi via train on Saturday night as the IAF exam was slated for the next morning. The duo decided to spend the night at the station platform itself.
They were sleeping near the ticket counter when the accused came and woke up Prasad, held him at gunpoint and signalled him to handover the cash and other valuables to them. Prasad obliged and handed over his wallet and mobile phone.
In the meantime, Shyam got into a scuffle with the men, who in turn, stabbed him in the stomach and fled. Locals rushed the victim to a hospital from where he was referred to LNJP Hospital for further treatment.
Cops registered a case at Sabzi Mandi railway police station and upon scanning the CCTV footage from the station premises, identified the accused men as Tarun and Shankar, residents of Libaspur village in outer Delhi.
A raid was conducted at their house and the duo was nabbed. The men later disclosed the name of the third accomplice.
Doctors at LNJP hospital said that Shyam is out of danger.
