New Delhi: Arguments on charge in the Parliament shootout case will be heard on June 3 by a court designated to try offences under POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act).

New Delhi: Arguments on charge in theParliament shootout case will be heard on June 3 by a court designated to tryoffences under POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act). The special judgeannounced the date after being informed by lawyers for the accused that theremaining documents of the police chargesheet had been supplied to them and thattheir copies were complete with all papers and documents, making for an 811-pagechargesheet. All the accused, except Navjot Sidhu alias Afsan Guru, werepresent in court. The court also appointed a criminal lawyer the amicus curiaefor the accused Mohammad Afzal, who is alleged to be the Delhi coordinator ofthe militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). The special cell on May 14 had fileda chargesheet against seven persons in the case, in which JeM chief MasoodAzhar, and two of his close Pakistani aides — Ghazi Baba alias Abu Jehadiand Tariq Ahmed — were declared proclaimed offenders.
