It has happened because of a man made crisis, this is not a natural disaster. Drains are not clear, water bodies have been taken over, illegal occupation of land...where is the Delhi chief minister? Looks like he said it seriously that he would make Delhi land of lakes
We have identified 5 gates of ITO barrage, which is maintained by the Haryana government, that are jam. Lot of water which is coming into Delhi from Wazirabad side is not getting released from ITO (barrage) causing rise in water level
Blaming others for Delhi's condition is wrong and this is not the time for politics...Kejriwal wrote to Amit Shah and requested him to interfere and reduce the amount of water that is being released from Hathnikund barrage...if this was written with the intention of politics & to hide his own failure, then it is very unfortunate
12 NDRF teams are deployed in view of the flood situation in Delhi, administration and agencies are also working together...have evacuated around 2500 people so far from different areas
As you know, it rained heavily on July 8-9. The rain that happens in the mountains comes down to the plains. As a precautionary measure, we had to stop the train services. On July 9, the Kalka-Shimla line was closed. On July 9-10, maximum services were closed in the Ambala division, and between the Jalandhar-Firozepur division. Water has started to recede in the Ambala area and certain important sections have started functioning. Yamuna is still overflowing as you know. Services have been terminated and as soon as the water recedes, we will conduct an inspection of the tracks and the bridges and ensure proper functioning.
