Tie-up to boost solar research and training
New Delhi: The International Solar Alliance (ISA) and IIT Delhi have joined hands to build a brighter solar future, focusing on strengthening global solar capacity through training, academic expansion and collaborative research. The partnership aims to create a strong international talent pool by training Solar Technology Application Resource-Centre (STAR-C) instructors from ISA member countries. The two formalised a framework for action with a strong emphasis on capacity building, academic collaboration and human resource development.

The collaboration will support the training of renewable energy engineers, STAR-C trainers and research professionals, alongside promoting joint research, technology cooperation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives in solar energy. The framework builds on cooperation between ISA and IIT Delhi's department of energy science and engineering, which already supported an MTech programme in renewable energy technologies.
