Faridabad: Two armed robbers thrashed and fired at a young man after they could not get the his cash and finally escaped from the spot on the victim's motorcycle on Sunday. Jeetendra Singh (26), a resident of Sector 8, was riding his motorcycle when two young men stopped him right in front of a police post and demanded cash. Resisting their attack, the victim struck back but one of the robbers hit him on his head with a brick and the other threw red chilli powder at him.
They also shot at him, but Jeetendra snatched the pistol. The bullet made him fall and as he fell, they took away his motorcycle and vanished.
Police arrived and took him to Fortis Escorts Hospital where he was operated upon by Dr Ved Prakash, who removed his bullet. Speaking to Times City Dr Prabal Roy, HOD (surgery), said that the patient, despite being critical on arrival due to loss of blood, had responded well to operation for removal of his bullet and was recovering well. toireporter@timesgroup .com
