ERODE: Two men died and another man suffered injuries after falling off a two-wheeler they were travelling on near Sathyamangalam in Erode district on Wednesday night. Police said the trio were drunk.
The deceased have been identified as M Perarasu, 19, and M Rajendran, 29, of Amman Koil Pirivu area of Sathyamangalam. Their friend, M Guna, 19, of Rajiv Nagar in Sathyamangalam, suffered injuries in the accident.
"The accident occurred around 11pm when the trio, who were coolies, were returning home after work. Rajendran, who was riding the two-wheeler, lost control of the vehicle. All fell on the road," said sub-inspector Vaira Kumar from the Sathyamangalam police station. Perarasu and Rajendran died on the spot. Guna, who sustained multiple fractures, was sent to Sathyamangalam Government Hospital from where he was referred to Coimbatore Government Medical College and Hospital.
Police registered a case.
