Brother, 2 others get life in jail for man’s murder over property
Ghaziabad: An additional sessions court has handed life terms to three persons of the same family for the murder of a realtor over a dispute over an ancestral land parcel in the Masoori area in 2019.
Vipin Kumar (45) was shot dead by his brother Dushyant (40), brother-in-law Inderveer (65) and his son Aditya (45) after an argument on April 11, 2019. The three men, who had fled after the murder, were arrested on April 22 and two country-made guns were recovered from them, Vipin’s counsel Rajesh Chand Sharma said.
Inderveer’s wife Alka and son Arya were also booked for murder and criminal conspiracy.

Vipin’s wife Anita, among the 14 prosecution witnesses to testify during the trial, submitted the dispute was over a 100 sqm land at Kazipura village. She submitted Inderveer and Alka wanted Vipin to sell the plot to them, however, once the property was transferred, they refused to pay up.
Anita said her husband had managed to reclaim the plot from Inderveer and Alka, which escalated tensions, especially as Alka demanded her share in the ancestral property. Dushyant, who bore some grudges against Vipin, backed Inderveer and Alka.
“On April 11, 2019, Vipin was getting his ancestral home repaired, but Dushyant and Inderveer objected. When Vipin and his family members reached the spot to discuss and resolve the issue, he was attacked and killed,” Anita submitted.

The autopsy had confirmed Vipin sustained two firearm injuries — one on his right chest and another on the back — and died from shock and haemorrhage.
Inderveer and Dushyant denied the charges, while Aditya argued that a financial dispute over Rs 15 lakh led to the altercation. Alka and Arya claimed they were wrongfully implicated.
Additional sessions judge Anand Prakash Singh found Dushyant, Inderveer and Aditya guilty based on witness testimonies and medical evidence, while Alka and Arya were acquitted due to a lack of evidence. “The three persons were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC,” the court declared, imposing a fine of Rs 50,000 on each convict.
