Teenager held for raping 16-year-old

MARGAO: The Margao police have arrested a 19-year-old boy, Saeesh Vaikunth Sinai Barad, a resident of Ravanfond, Margao, on charges of kidnapping and raping a 16-year old girl.Police sources told TOI that the girl was forcibly taken by the accused along with him on April 19, and since then, she was wrongfully confined to a place at Colem, where he raped her. Police surmise that the accused was known to the victim, but are unwilling to disclose any more information until more details emerge during the investigations. The accused has been arrested under Sections 363, 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 8 of the Goa Children's Act.Further investigations are underway.
