Security guard dies after speeding car overturns auto on Golf Course Road
Gurgaon: A 54-year-old security guard died during treatment after the auto-rickshaw he was travelling in overturned following a collision with a speeding car near Sector 42/27 Chowk on Golf Course Road on Tuesday afternoon.The deceased, Bijendra Singh, had been living with his family in DLF Phase 1 for the past four years. He worked as a security guard at a residence in DLF Aralia, Sector 42.According to a complaint filed by his son, Ritik Singh, the accident took place around 2pm when Bijendra was travelling in an auto-rickshaw from Sikandarpur towards Aralia. Near the U-turn before Sector 42/27 Chowk, a speeding car allegedly overtook the auto and suddenly took a U-turn, colliding with it and causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver fled the spot after the crash.Police said multiple passengers travelling in the auto sustained injuries. Bijendra and another injured passenger were taken to a private hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later shifted to Paras Hospital, where he died during treatment.A forensic team visited the spot and CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the accused driver.An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS.
