According to police, two relatives of the complainant, Tahir Hussain, were returning to their home when some men stopped them and began assaulting them, and people present on the terrace began hurling stones.
One person was referred to PGI Rohtak, while the others were shifted to Nalhar Medical College for advanced treatment.
Hussain said that the conflict stemmed from an earlier case registered against the same group at Akera police station earlier this year.
On Dec 29, Tahir was allegedly stopped near his village fields by an accused who threatened him with dire consequences if the previous case was not withdrawn.
The violence intensified the following evening around 5.15pm, when Tahir's son Salim, accompanied by relatives Faizan and Sahid, was returning home from Nuh in a car.
At a turn, the group allegedly blocked the road by placing a large stone and called in accomplices armed with sticks, iron rods and stones.
As Faizan attempted to flee, he was chased and assaulted.
The attackers then damaged the vehicle, smashing its windscreen with sharp weapons and iron rods, the complainant stated.
The occupants managed to escape and sought help at the village chaupal. Soon after, a larger group allegedly reached Tahir's neighbourhood and attacked residents, pelted stones at them and broke household items.
Yasin sustained multiple blows to the head, face and legs and collapsed unconscious at the spot. Khurshid suffered chest injuries after being hit with bricks and sticks, while Farhana, Tahir's daughter, lost an upper incisor tooth following a blow to her mouth.
Talim, Jamshida, Saija, Muskan, Rashina and others also sustained injuries, as confirmed in medico-legal reports from CHC Nuh, which noted multiple blunt-force injuries.
Based on the complaint and medical evidence, Akera police station registered a case under Sections 191(3), 190, 115(2), 126(2), 351(3) and 324(4) of the BNS.
