CM Lalduhoma reviews progress of NH projects across Mizoram
Aizawl: Mizoram CM Lalduhoma on Friday chaired a review meeting with officials of the ministry of road transport and highways to assess the progress of NH projects in the state. The meeting, held in Aizawl, focused on ongoing works, completed stretches, and challenges faced during execution.The CM expressed gratitude to Union minister Nitin Gadkari for his continued support, noting that several state proposals have received positive consideration. He highlighted ongoing discussions on adopting rigid pavement technology to suit Mizoram’s high rainfall conditions.

Officials reviewed projects being implemented by the national highways and infrastructure development corporation limited and the state public works department (PWD). Updates were shared on highway improvement works across districts and on proposals awaiting central approval.Major NHIDCL projects under the ministry of road transport and highways include Lunglei–Chhumkhum (37.42 km), Chhumkhum–Tlabung (37.53 km), Pawlrang–Rulchawm section of Tuivai–Keifang (30.41 km), Zorinpui–Longmasu (28.24 km), Vairengte–Sairang (Package 3 to 8, 90.11 km), Aizawl bypass Package 2 (4.6 km) and Package 3 (19.3 km). Twenty projects have already been completed, while works for Aizawl bypass Package 1 are set to commence.The ministry of home affairs has recommended declaring the Aizawl-Thenzawl road as a NH, with final approval from MoRTH awaited.
