HUBLI: A Hubli-based women's organization claimed to have identified "ideal mother-in-law and daughter-in-law" of the city. At the first-of-its kind of event hosted by Aradhana Women's Organization of Navanagar here on Sunday evening, Prema Kulkarni and Aarati Kulkarni of Mayuri Estate walked away with Ideal Mother-In-Law and Daughter-In-Law title. They were selected from among 30 pairs of saas-bahus from Hubli, Dharwad and surrounding places.
The community hall in Navanagar, the venue of the event, was jam-packed with a large number of women who waited with bated breath to see which pair would make it to the top.

The organizers had tough time to decide on that - they took over six hours to announce the names of "ideal" saas-bahu.
All mothers-in-law and their daughters-in-law were quizzed separately on each other's food habits, attitude, likes and dislikes. The "ideal" saas-bahu title was conferred on a pair which matched the answers the most.
Organizers said Prema and Aarati matched all the parameters. This apart, the duo is also said to be living in "perfect harmony" and sans any quarrel for over a decade.
Speaking to `The Times of India', Aarati said: "I have not quarrelled with my mother-in-law in my 14 years of married life. I treat her like my mother. We decide collectively on many issues." Prema also expressed similar views about Aarati.
Aradhana secretary Suma Chikkerur said they had received a good response to their programme. "It is our effort to educate women on how to live happily with their in-laws and keep their families happy," she added.
