Playback singer PBS conferred award

RAICHUR: Popular multi-lingual playback singer of yesteryears, P B Srinivas, was on Friday conferred the Aasthan Sangeetha Vidwan Award by Raghavendra Swami Mutt at Mantralaya, about 70 km from here.
Suyathindra Swami of the mutt presented the award, which carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh cash, a citation and a shawl to Srinivas at the mutt's three-day religious fair, which began at Mantralaya on Friday.
"I never though that I will get this top honour. I will remember this throughout my life," Srinivas said, replying to felicitations.
The singer later rendered a song in praise of Raghavendra Swami.
