B Tech student dies in accident

HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old B Tech first year student of Matrusri Engineering College, Nadargul, V Diwakara Reddy, died in a road accident near Gurunanak Engineering College, Ibrahimpatnam on Friday evening. However, his friend and classmate Ch Karthika Reddy, 19, who received serious injuries, was admitted to a private hospital in L B Nagar. His condition is said to be out of danger.They were heading towards the city from Sagar Ring Road when the incident happened.
According to Ibrahimpatnam sub-inspector of police P Krishna, the incident occurred when the duo's Innova rammed into a tractor while they were trying to overtake it. Karthika Reddy was at the wheel, while Diwakara Reddy was in the co-driver's seat.
The tractor engine overturned due to the impact of the hit and driver Jangaiah, who also suffered injuries in the incident, was admitted to a private hospital in Ibrahimpatnam.
Based on a compliant lodged by tractor owner Venkateswara Reddy, the Ibrahimpatnam police registered a case under section 304-A (Causing death by negligence) and 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC against Karthika Reddy, the SI added.
