HYDERABAD: Former Congress president and party MP
Rahul Gandhi has accused chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's family and other BRS leaders of "again snatching land from farmers and the poor" by misusing Dharani portal.
Addressing public meetings in Bodhan, Adilabad and Vemulawada constituencies on Saturday, he said, "KCR and his family and top BRS leaders looted the wealth of the people of Telangana through every scheme and project.
Over Rs 1 lakh crore public money was looted through Kaleshwaram (lift irrigation) project which is the biggest symbol of BRS government's corruption."
He alleged that KCR and his family members were holding money-minting ministerial portfolios and departments like land, revenue, mines, excise and amassing wealth. "Statehood to Telangana was not given for only KCR's family to amass wealth, but for the welfare of the farmers, women, youth... The dream of the people of Telangana was shattered by KCR who turned it into a one-family rule for 10 years," he said.
I will not compromise with Modi, there is ideological war between us, says RahulBRS, BJP and AIMIM are working together. That is why there were no raids of CBI, ED or IT on KCR,” he added. “He listens to whatever PM Narendra Modi says. Modi has a remote control with just three buttons - CBI, ED and IT. KCR is scared that Modi will press one or all the three buttons against him if doesn’t listen to him. KCR needs power and the chief minister’s post and fears that if he loses it, all his lakhs of crores worth of corruption would be exposed,” Rahul said.
The Nehru-Gandhi scion said his first mission was to defeat the KCR-led BRS in Telangana and later the Modiled BJP in the country. “If the Congress defeats BRS in Telangana, it will become easier to defeat the BJP in the country. And we (Congress) are going to do that. I will not compromise with Modi because it is an ideological war between us,” he said. On one hand, there is BRS government’s corruption symbol - Kaleshwaram project - and on the other, there is Hyderabad with a lot of IT development, he told the audience. “Do you want a corrupt government or a progressive government under Congress?” he asked. Former minister Mandava Venkateswara Rao joined the Congress in Rahul’s presence at Bodhan. Meanwhile, Rahul also met job aspirants at Ashoknagar in teh city and asked about ordeal they've been facing after exam notifications were cancelled. He interacted with locals at a restaurant here.
