He told bank officials that the loan was mean to buy better equipment for his hospital. After submitting forged tenders, the doctor, who owns the Vijaya Bank in Sikh Village in Secunderabad, and the Saikrupa Hospital in Chandanagar, got the loan approved. Recently, the bank learnt that the loan was misused, and threatened the doctor with legal action. Dr Shivaprasad Rao then tendered a cheque for Rs 50,000 to repay the bank. But when the bank officials presented the cheque to another private bank, it bounced. The Mahankali police then arrested Dr Shivaprasad Rao, a resident of Chandanagar for cheating, and produced him in court.
